Tip Top Bakery required a platform to enable them to protect their new roof they had just got installed at Fairfield whist carrying out maintenance task on machinery on the roof top. RIGCOM Access were called in to provide a custom built platform to cover the new roof sheeting area, that would allow the client to use as a working and storage area. RIGCOM Access were contacted by Transfield Services to help provide them with a solution to their access needs. They needed a solution to help provide safe access for their employees to the top of fans to carry out inspections. After looking at a couple of Height Safety possibilities, RIGCOM Access suggested that the client look at using Rope Access methods to carry out the inspections.

After describing what was possible with Rope Access, RIGCOM Access were invited in to demonstrate Rope Access Techniques to provide the solution on how we would access the fans safely and carry out the inspections. With the client pleased with the result, RIGCOM Access were asked to carry out inspection tasks on the last shut down to show how we are able to fit into their schedule and safety requirements.

RIGCOM Access were asked to provide a solution for the Art’s Centre in Campbelltown. Due to the positioning of the light mounts it is necessary for stage hands to lean over and through the handrail to change the lightening for different events. This was proving a Height Safety problem as there was an increase risk that someone could fall down from the overhead walkway. We were asked to provide a system that would prevent an accident from happening.

RIGCOM Access installed a Uniline Uni8 system with Sala Self rescue inertia reels. The way the system been designed to work will allow and forces of a fall to be taken away and because the Inertia is a rescue, once the initial fall has taken place it will lower the person attached safely to the ground. This prevents any need for a difficult rescue to be carried out and fills the requirements of Australian Standards ensure all Height Safety Systems have a rescue procedure, BEFORE, an event should happen.

RIGCOM Access were approached by the RTA, as we are an accredited Uniline Product installer Height Safety Unirail to a new sign in the ACT. The new sign design, had incorporated the use of product as a safety system for any maintenance tasks that will be required in future to the sign.

Whist on site we discussed some issues with the design of the system and positioning of some of the brackets. We offered a better solution, that would decrease the install time, which in turn would decreased the costs for the client.

The client contacted RIGCOM Access to provide them with solutions for access to the roof top, safe access to air conditioning, and safe access whist on the roof. By installing a new Sayfa caged ladder, we solved the issue of safe access to the roof top. This provided the client safe access to get a new roof installed prior to the other works that were required.

As part of the requirement the client wanted all the air conditioning units to be place on platforms, to prevent any damage to the new roof. So using a previously designed platform and linking up with walkway, we provided the client with safe access for employees and contractors to carry out any service and maintenance tasks required.

To prevent any unwanted falls over the edges as the parapets were below the requirements of Australian Standards it was decided that the client wanted to go with handrail around the perimeter of the building. Rather than going for anchor points or even better Static lines, they decided that the ongoing cost wasn’t something they wanted, so opted for the fixed handrail.

As part of the upgrade to the roof on the Coca Cola plant, RIGCOM Access were called in to provide a safe means to access the roof tops and carry out gutter cleaning and other maintenance tasks. RIGCOM Access designed Height Safety systems using Uniline Roofsafe Cable to carry out works on the buildings within two metres of a fall.

RIGCOM Access also installed access ladders and walkway to prevent damage on the most used areas of the roof and to ensure safe access could be achieved by anyone wishing to access plant on the roof tops.

RIGCOM Access were approached to provide access and to clean areas of an apartments facade. Due to the location of the buildings and the access roads around, it would have meant roads would have had to be closed off whist an Elevated Work Platform could be used. This would have added additional cost to the client.

Instead, RIGCOM Access utilised Rope Access methods and the job was carried out quickly, with no disruption to the traffic flow around the area as no roads were needed to be blocked off. The client was left with a clean facade.
