Confined Space

Though many requests to RIGCOM Access are for services ‘at height’ there is just as much requirement for services to be completed in ‘Confined Spaces’

A confined space is defined in Australian Standard AS 2865 as a space of any volume which:

  • Is not designed as a regular workplace
  • Has restricted means of exit and entry
  • May have inadequate ventilation
  • Is at atmospheric pressure during occupancy
  • May be prone to engulfment.
